International Practice Groups

The International Practice Groups are where the Ius Laboris local experts regularly meet to share their expertise. They produce a wide variety of topical publications covering the key legal areas related to labour, employment, pensions, employee benefits or immigration. These are published on-line several times per year in the form of booklets.

During the fall 2011, the following booklets have been published:

Secondments to and within Europe - with the contribution of Natasa Randlova

Outsourcing and employment: an international guide - with the contribution of Natasa Randlova and Romana Kaletova

Individual dismissals across Europe - with the contribution of Natasa Randlova

Cooperation and education

Sharing the expertise and experience among member law firms and cooperation in preparing educational materials designed for their clients are some of the main components forming the global cooperation within Ius Laboris. In this respect, useful publications, bulletins and seminars are being prepared and further distributed to the clients through the law firms. They are mainly aimed on alerting possible labour law problems and issues on both global and regional or local level.

Global Alert

A series of publications is produced each year to make the clients of the member law firms acquainted with current labour law issues of mainly global nature.

The first issue of Global Alerts is called “Lessons learned from the Japanese Disaster: Employer Responsibilities to its Employees”. The authors react on March events in Japan when the earthquake and subsequent tsunami paralysed the life on the islands, including the functioning of Fukushima nuclear power plant. The text analyzes particular measures taken by multinational corporations in Japan in connection with the protection of their employees from the radioactive pollution. In general, it further deals with employer´s duties to protect life and health of its employees.

The entire text can be found here.

NewsFlash

Individual members of Ius Laboris elaborate current news and events from the labour law field which are specific for a particular region or area.

The issue from February 2012, which you can find here, informs about new Canadian national standards for psychological health and safety in workplaces.

In the issue form September 2011, which you can find here, you can read about the new decision of the European Court of Justice. The decision concerns admissibility of regulation included in a collective agreement which forces pilots to prior retirement, than it is needed according to national and international regulations.
